Disappointed ?

So having just finished stretching at home, I realise once again that I am nowhere as far as I usually am in class. Not gonna lie, I feel like saying “well just stretch in class only” but that’s a cop out as I want to stretch as part of my morning routine. Im hoping this will maake me a morning person!! To clarify, the only time i ever see morning is if i dont sleep the night before, which i did not again last night.)

Lightbulb moment……maybe thats why im not getting as deep into my stretches. Because my body is not rested. But i still think motivation plays a part.

Soooo what to do? It’s only the front splits I have this issue with so maybe I will just do middles and upper body at home for the time being. As this will be where I see the most progress. If I do decide to do front splits at home, I might just focus on one aspect i.e. Active flexibility or a better splits on my back. Yeah…….even as I type im thinking that’s the way to go.

The above pic is me trying to get a better oversplit on my back leg but the block hurts my knee so I placed it just below. If im gonna put the block there I need to really contract and straighten that back leg to see if my hips are really on the floor with a straight back leg rather than bent at the knee.

I didn’t stretch my middles today. Cheated myself again!! Middles and back are what need the most work but it’s always the case that we focus on what we can do best.

Anyhow, new plan. Don’t aim for increased ROM (range of motion) for front splits at home. Instead do active flexibility splits on my back and also start practicing a scorpion since I now have a Deuserband. Need to get my teacher to show me how to use it though!!

Is it the amount of warm up the problem? I have to take an hour 1.5 hour class before I stretch or my body says no! I’m also working on my splits and oversplits
