Steady Progress Days 64-70

I am excited to see the community growing, and so many people taking on the challenge! I just want to remind you all that if you have any questions at all feel free to private message me or post in the community support forum. I also love feedback and if there is anything you would like to see in the future let me know. I am already working on some more core dynamic stretching routines for the near future and constantly adding to the static stretching and pose pages. Good luck to everyone!

I have made it through 10 weeks and in those 10 weeks I have calculated that I have practiced about 80 hours give or take. Roughly that is 4x per week, 2 hours per session and sometimes more when I am teaching.

However In the past 2 weeks I have only trained contortion twice! Mainly because it was rainy and I was drained, my body told me to give heavy stretching a rest and I followed orders. I did some light dynamic stretches throughout the days just to keep loose and I’m glad I did because I made tremendous progress when I got back to the static stretches and poses. I think this was because I wasn’t sore, I felt fresh and renewed. I also took my time going through the dynamic stretches, I was comfortable, and I had a stretching buddy.

For the first time ever I saw my whole foot in a lunge backbend, I went straight back almost horizontal in cobra, and kicked myself in the head several times in cobra with my arms reaching backwards. I am beyond happy that all my hard work is starting to pay off!

The most challenging aspect so far, is balance. Balancing the strength and flexibility of my legs has been complicated. It takes a lot of mental focus to be able to control your muscles individually and I think that may be the hardest part for everyone. Once you have conscious control of your muscles, anything is possible!

Thank you very much! Now everything works perfectly 🙂

Once my doctor told me my back muscles didn’t t have the enough strength to hold me, and I never thought it’d be an issue with flexibility too. I’ll do a lot of strengthening exercises too.

Thank you again!

Hello! I’d have posted this question in the forum area, but I can’t access it, neither see my private messages. I’m trying to strech every 2 days my back, and when I’m doing them, my lower back hurts when I stand. Because of that I do a lot of opposite streches (quite deep streches I have to say), in order to relax that part of my body. My question is, is it good or wrong to do so? Would my flexibility improve in spite of that opposite streches? I know it’s correct to do the opposite, so the back doesn’t… Read more »
