Yesterday I did my first day of stretching with this program. I did the side splits 1 hour option. It was a lot more strength than stretch for me. Also, I was looking forward to getting to the static stretching portion because I love static stretching, except most of the static stretches weren’t static, so that was disappointing.
What am I hoping to get out of this? Well I can actually do my side splits on both sides with a lot of warm up and stretching. I’d like it to be easier and more comfortable to do them. I would love to get my middle splits. I’ve been less than an inch away before, but I stopped really pushing for them.
I got this grand idea in my head a couple of days ago that I should become a contortionist. I own a pole studio and was setting up a contortion workshop when I found that there are no contortionists within over an hour of me. I’m naturally pretty bendy. Can I get ultra bendy? Am I dedicated enough to do it? This program is my attempt to find out. I’m definitely more of a front bender than a back bender though and I wish there were more contortion resources out there that dealt with from bending rather than back bending.
Glad to have you here, I look forward to watching you progress! I promise the more you build strength in your flexibility, the more comfortable everything will be. When I first started I couldn’t believe how much muscle concentration was involved in flexibility! 🙂 You can certainly do the static stretching routine with no movement whatsoever. In this case the movement will serve as a way you can alter each static stretch after holding, as well as how to cycle through good form points. I can recommend you hold each specific movement within 1 gif for 10-20 deep breaths, or… Read more »
